author : Arthur T. Bradley
Arthur Bradley was born in California in 1965 to a father in search of answers to the world's secrets, and a mother just seeking a loving family. They were nomadic travelers for his early years, with many odd jobs including selling sheepskins on the side of the road and breeding black widow spiders. As maturity and age finally caught up with his parents, they ended up in a middle class neighborhood with all the usual perks and drawbacks.\r\n\r\nArthur joined the US Army as an Airborne Infantryman at the ripe age of 17. While in the military, he studied several martial arts, including kenpo karate, aikido, and jiu-jitsu. Three years and many adventures later, he left the service and enrolled in college in search of a different life. He excelled in engineering, graduating first in his class at Auburn University. He toggled in and out of graduate school while gaining experience at several companies including Sony, Dynetics, and Time Domain. By the time he was thirty five, he had completed his PhD, found a loving wife, and developed a marketable skill.\r\n\r\nDr. Bradley currently works at NASA Langley Research Center in southern Virginia. He and his wife, Lalia, homeschool their four children. He is active in volunteer youth organizations, including the Boy and Girl Scouts of America and Upward Basketball. Dr. Bradley is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association as well as a supporter of the Virginia Civil Defense League. \r\n\r\nHaving lived all across the United States, Dr. Bradley writes from personal experience about preparing for a wide variety of disasters, including earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, house fires, radiation contamination, and massive snowstorms. He believes that preparedness should always be motivated by love and concern, never by fear and paranoia. His practical approach to family preparedness has received widespread praise from individuals, emergency preparedness consultants, and religious organizations. As a public service, Dr. Bradley provides no-cost presentations on disaster preparedness to church and civic organizations around the country.
